We have early returns back from the Thursday night game, Seattle Seahawks versus the Dallas Cowboys. I scored on three of our statistics and missed on two of while Nathan hit on 4 of his 5. This game was a higher scoring affair than I think the 49ers and Eagles game will be so it will be interesting to see if the same statistics score in our spotlight game.
Hedging my bets cost me in this game
Because I was thinking of the spotlight game I was trying to think of the kind of game plan that would end up being able to beat a really good football team which both the 49ers and Eagles are. I do think that a ground game of rushing attempts and rushing yards will open up the winner of our spotlight game for big plays of 20+ yards. In the Seahawks v Cowboys game, big plays weren’t as much a factor, nor were passing yards or yards per pass. We’ll have to wait to find out if the same can be said for our spotlight game.
My favorite analogy
I like listening to podcasts, and one of my favorite voices is Bomani Jones. I heard Bomani once say that passing offenses are like a Hollywood blockbuster, but rushing attacks are like a really good drama. I think it might be fair to say that in order for Nathan to win we might need a Hollywood blockbuster, but my team will succeed if the game is a good drama.
